AAMS is really great to improve your mixes!

What I find positive of this AAMS program that makes a reference list of the settings of EQ, Compressor and similars.
Then you have information that you can set in your DAW and then be more precise in mixing.
AAMS is really great to improve your mixes!

Stratpeter

I am using AAMS, and it's been a huge help. I rarely match another EQ curve exactly, but AAMS certainly points me in the right direction. When I've got things sounding pretty good in the overall mix and I'm not sure why it's not quite right, I run an AAMS EQ analysis and compare it to a commercial mix. If my vocal or guitar isn't quite cutting it, I'll do an AAMS EQ analysis against an isolated commercial vox/vocal or guitar, and make adjustments accordingly. The usefulness of this AAMS tool is that it gives you a starting point, so if I notice that my vocal has several db less 3K but several db more 5K, I'll start messing around with those frequencies until it sounds better in context of my mix. There has been a lot negative said about this type of program, but I couldn't disagree more. AAMS has been one of the single biggest contributors to the improvement of my knowledge and the sound of my mixes.

I liked the AAMS mastered version better!

Comparing Mixes and Music, I liked the AAMS mastered version better. The low end of the Original sounds a little boomy on my speakers. The AAMS mastered version took that away. The AAMS mastered version sounds a little compressed to me, which is good, sounds more professional, sort like a James Taylor tune.

AAMS is good mastering software

I compared my files of the Neumann mics Guitar recording A/B'ed with the original vs mastered with the AAMS software. The levels were about the same now, however the AAMS mastered track has more depth and a richer tone thru out the recordings and really shines on the last strum of the guitar! The EQ adjustments in AAMS seemed to have helped. I'm getting there. AAMS is good mastering software, i stick with it.

Pretty cool piece of software!

I think it's a pretty cool piece of software I haven't seen before. AAMS an interesting software technology which I chose to support. I like to idea of mastering on my computer and not having to send it out. Getting one good mix and the software pays for itself. I've already got that, so I can't complain. I'm really intrigued by this software, there's lot's of stuff to explore, and the pro version is just loaded with data and options.

It's just what I needed.

Well this AAMS software seems to fix up my files right up. It's just what I needed. It gives me the results I was looking for. This software is a no-brainer for me. After hearing the end result, I'm sold.

AAMS does indeed seem to work nicely!

AAMS is very interesting software that automatically masters your recordings. There's a freeware version and a pro version. I tried it out a few of my test recordings and most of them sounded much better. The free version adds 50 band EQ, 4 band Compression and Loudness control.... the pro version uses a 100 point EQ, 8 band compression.., and you have a choice of hundreds of reference settings from various styles of music. You can watch the video's and get started right away mastering your files on your computer. I was surprised by how much better my recordings sounded. I burned a few cd's to listen on my truck's sound system and was very impressed. I did a bunch of A/B tests and the mastered versions came out on top every time. It does indeed seem to work nicely.

AAMS Review by Softpedia

AAMS Auto Audio Mastering System is intended to assist musicians and sound technicians in creating the final version of their mixes, ready to be released to the public. The audio mastering process enables you to prepare a mix for being distributed by fixing distractions in tonality, volume, noises or distortion.
Getting accustomed to the application doesn't require you to be a professional mastering engineer, although some basic knowledge and some time is required to find out what each function does. The interface is definitely note the best we've seen, but it provides one-click access to all the options. It takes some time to set up your own reference master and this is done by allowing the program to analyze sets of songs with characteristics similar to what you plan on obtaining. Practically, you can give all your mixes the feel of your best song. AAMS Auto Audio Mastering System aims to help you test the sound quality of your audio materials. It analyzes MP3 or WAV source files and then uses them as a reference system for further input sounds. Alternatively, you can use one of the many reference files that the application comes with. The collection includes reference systems for a wide range of genres, from classic music and ballads to disco, funk, electronic and rock. AAMS Auto Audio Mastering System enables you to view the waveform display and the spectrum graph of the loaded songs and provides suggestions for the equalizer, compression and volume settings. Also, it can be used for digital signal processing, applying the necessary corrections to your mix in order to make it sound great. Thus, you can adjust fading and get better results by using a multiband compressor or a parametric EQ, change the master balance, normalize WAV files and more. AAMS Auto Audio Mastering System comes with a set of tools that can help you create your final CD, even if you don't know much about mastering. It allows you to correct obvious differences between songs and create a recording that can captivate the audience.

Tested AAMS and was stunned!

Have found this on the net somehow. Tested AAMS and was stunned! Why did i never see this software before. Anyhow it is actually mindblowingly good. It surpassed all my expectations. The sound is so good and cleared, the balancing is amazing. I dont even understand the compression, but it is so good i never heard this before. I surely recommend AAMS software to anyone. And if you do have hassitations, set away your pride and test AAMS before it tests you!

Amazing!

Super! I was impressed by the report function that actually lays out what it is going to tweak. Suggestion, just for a quick take, take one of your songs, use the auto master a WAV file and when it asks for a reference load the @master RMS.aam. It is simply amazing what it does (it will take several minutes to run through the whole process depending on your computer's speed and ram). You can then look at the report to show you what it did.
When you play the mastered file you will really hear the subtle differences. When you get more into it, some of the options are tremendous. It has a 100 band EQ - amazing. :D
